well my offers still up...
Are you asking about the first or second generation stream? The answers depend greatly on which version you're referring to.
Either one, Scott.
Actually its the second gen I'm talkin about, since I'm aware that the first gen uses different voices than the second gen.
I believe the second gen victor stream uses the same voice as the NLS players. I really like that voice.
I wish i knew what it was so i could see if i could get it to work ti with Jaws somehow.

Hi everyone,
I have a first-generation stream. Could anyone provide some quick hints? I know it has a tutorial. How do I find it?
I appreciate any help.
Liz
I have the second generation Victor Reader Stream. The voices used are the Acapela ones. You can listen to samples of those voices in the Humanware website. About monitoring the recording yes you can do so by using headphones. About the frequencies, I have no idea. Check out also the last update where you can have online radios from Ootunes data base. I really like this machine!
Thanks for the info on the s second generation stream.
Is there an EQ built in that you can change things like the base and trouble, etc?
Hello, Infinite,
If you are still wanting tips about the first-generation, feel free to send me a PM and I'll be happy to help. Otherwise, there should be a tutorial on the CD that ships with the Stream; there is also an in-depth user guide built in: just press and hold the 1 key. Press and hold the same to exit.
Wow, the second-generation VR Stream makes the first clunky one look llike ... well, crap, honestly. I would get rid of mine or sell it to anyone who would want it, but unfortunately, the headphone jack doesn't work as well as it once did. I called up screwmanware for an estimate for the cost of repairing the damn thing, and it's about half the cost of a new one. Wish I knew how to fix this thing without having to send it back as it is not under warranty. Suggestions?
wel wha'ts wrong with the headphone jack, exactly?
Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know that I really love the last update for the new Stream. It's mainly internet radio, wikipedia search and dictionary search. I think it really made this machine much more powerful and it really brings the reading experience to a new dimension both for entertainement and for studdying purposes!
Wow Faial, you made the 2nd gen sounds very attractive. But then, i got an iPhone, not too sure if i really need another dedicated DAISY player though. However, will definitely think about it since all my dedicated DAISY player Battery is dying.
